Fortnite Drift Mask
My youngest son decided to go as Drift from Fortnite for carnaval this year. As always it started out relatively simple. Get some clothes, order a latex mask online and done.
The result was a bit disappointing. This mask was way to big and the clothes needed some tuning. So I decided to remake the mask. I still had a little bit of relatively light red cedar laying around. Cut it up in pieces and glued it together. In the picture below you can see the forehead and nose.

After all the pieces were glued, I started rasping and planing the mask into shape. Due to the speed of working, there were some gaps, which needed filling:

The chin was also too small, so I glued an additional piece to it. Next step was to shape and attach the ears and tune up the chine.

And then very quickly give the mask a paint job. Not an excellent job, but time was limited.

Some elastic bands were added yo keep the mask at its place and some internal padding was added to prevent having wood against your face. The final result was this:

And then he decided too still wear the ugly latex mask too school. Since that was the first one he got… ouch…
