More masks
Just a few pictures of some additional masks I’ve made. I’ve made them this year for my sons to wear during carnaval.

I used the same approach as the previous mask, by first making a “medieval style” helmet and work from there. Nest time I’m going to try another approach, since this is a bit cumbersome to get right. I used balsa wood to keep the mask light.

The masks are inspired by masks worn in ancient Japan.

When the woodworking was done I applied several layers of paint followed by multiple layers of clear coat to create a very glossy feel to them.

And then the were ready to be worn.
